crafting the ideal small space
The MICROHOME Kingspan Edition prompts designers to conceptualize a home optimized for a young professional couple – whether urban or rural, any location worldwide can be the backdrop for these tiny homes. Confined to a 25m² space, the focus is on reimagining spatial organization through modularity, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies and materials, and placing a premium on sustainability in construction.

Within the size constraints, designers are asked to creatively conceptualize how the off-grid elements will be integrated into the space. Stepping outside conventional housing norms, water collection, waste management, and electrical generation take on unconventional requirements. Within this radical rethinking of living, designers must balance the cost-effectiveness, environmental considerations, and energy efficiency, all while ensuring residents have the essentials for modern daily living.
